This week the
Sarah Kay Sketch is by Katharina and again it is a great one.
Stamped image courtesy of Maria and papers are Basic Grey "Boxer" I love these papers.
The ribbon has a looped bow which the heart is dangling from but the photo is a bit dark so you can't see it very well.
I AM NOT DISTRESSED BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE!!
I love the distressed paper look but I am not sure how to achieve it and I can't bring myself to rip papers :o(
I am so worried I won't get it right!!!
Please can anyone enlighten me on the best way to do this?
Thanks for looking
Sue :o)

i like the distressed look also, i have this distress tool that i got from Stampin' Up and it works, i also heard people stating that they use their fingers to distress their cards...that i want to know =) your card is just so pretty!
OH this is so cute, and we were thinking alike with the papers weren't we! Love the colors and ribbon.
Distressing... hmmmmm I don't do it to often, but I just keep telling myself... it is only paper... it is only paper... it is only paper - then go for it!

oooohhhh she is sooooo cute! I totally love it!!
as for being distressed - I mean distressing...I usually just go round the edges with this little tool I have - but you can use a knife or your nail (ouch) or a nail file....hope that helps!

Stunning card Sue, The image is so pretty and coloured beautifully, love the ribbon and charm, I find the easiest way is to distress using a craft knife.. probably not the safest way I warn you but in small movements sweeping about an inch at a time. You can also do this with a ruler. Then a quick sweep round the edges with some brown chalk. Hugs, Nikki x
Really really cute Sue!! I use my distressing tool from Stampin' Up!, works like a charm!! You can also wet the sides of your paper and tear - makes for a really cool effect! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
Gorgeous, beautiful work with the image. The nearest thing I do to distress is inking the edges and if I'm forced to tear paper like in a class I shut my eyes and hope for the best.
Sue this is lovely. The papers are gorgeous and such a lovely image. x
Great card,luvly colours :o)x
Beautiful card, great coloring and I love that color blue!!! Great papers also. For the distressing is a little tool the best I think, there are a lot of them: SU, Tim Holtz, Hiedi Swapp, Making Memories. Here they cost around 5 euro....
Thanks for joining Stamp with Sarah Kay!! Love from Holland,
Jacqueline
It's a gorgeous card Sue and the pretty little charm is a nice touch. I rarely tear my paper, and when I'm forced into it I often use a ruller or I have a Fiskars template with a jagged edge as a guide. I do quite often dab chalk ink around the edges of my papers, either with a torn piece of make-up sponge or a stippling brush, which looks like a mini shaving brush - I got mine from Joanna Sheen but they've been out of stock for a while and I need more as I can't be bothered to wash them so want different ones for each of the colours I use most! have a great day. annie x

Hi Suzanne! Thanks for the congrats wishes and the Barcelona tips! We had an amazing time!
This is fabulous, I love the bright papers and the rest of your creations since my last visit are brilliant too! I hope you've had a lovely weekend!
I love the new BG papers. Hoping to get some soon. I'm afraid you are gonna have to have faith in yourself and rip those papers. You can also use some sandpaper and lightly go over the paper with that.
Wonderful card Suzanne, love the papers and the cute image
Pretty card....the image is adorable!
In addition to the above suggestions, you can also distress paper by sanding, crumpling or lightly brushing paint on it.
Have a great day!
