Stamp with Sarah Kay Sketch Challenge

This week the Sarah Kay Sketch is by Katharina and again it is a great one.
Stamped image courtesy of Maria and papers are Basic Grey "Boxer" I love these papers.
The ribbon has a looped bow which the heart is dangling from but the photo is a bit dark so you can't see it very well.

I AM NOT DISTRESSED BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE!!

I love the distressed paper look but I am not sure how to achieve it and I can't bring myself to rip papers :o(
I am so worried I won't get it right!!!

Please can anyone enlighten me on the best way to do this?

Thanks for looking

Christmas in August

I have lots of people asking if I sell my cards and I alays say no because I don't have the time.. what I mean is I don't have the time to make the kind of cards I like.
I have so much stash here I thought maybe what I should do is make some slightly simpler card with little images that don't take too much colouring.
So I started this afternoon with 2 little mice images that were sent to me by Natalie isn't he cute I'm not sure what make he is.

What do you think?

The papers are the new Dovecraft winter wonderland and I also bought the 12x12 Christmas Blues as they were on offer. Looks like there are going to be a lot of blue themed cards this year!!

I went out this morning to buy a few crafting essentials as seen in the picture above and a new pair of shoes as Honey has chewed the only good black pair I had.

And I have come back with the essentials and this lot!! but no shoes couldn't find any I liked... well actually I didn't look very hard spent to long in the the Range looking a the crafting stash..I had to come out before I spent any more... It's like being a child in a sweet shop!!

CCT Soft Furnishings

Challenge 23
This week the theme for the challenge is
Soft Furnishings
you can use fabric, ribbon, stitching, buttons etc, anything you can find on the soft furnishings in the home ie curtains, cushions, sofas etc.

I have used this K&CO silk ribbon which reminds me so much of my Grandmas Eiderdown (are you old enough to remember these). She used to have it on her bed all the time and in winter it was covered with a bedspread!!!

This is the first time I have used an A5 card for months at least I think that's the size and it really didn't feel right I do love my square ones.

The image is one sent to me by a friend.. I can't wait until we can start buying these little babies I just love them and the sentiment is stampabilities.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Tilda Challenge Blog

OK I have given in and made my first Christmas card just not too Christmasy!!!

The Challenge this week over on the Tilda & Co Challenge Blog is anything Christmas.

The papers are last years DCWV Christmas Stack which I bought towards the end of making my cards there are some lovely papers in it so I will get to use them this year, I have made it the same style as the Nurse Nina card as I quite like this for a change not quit a plain old square.

Thanks again to Maria for the image which is not exactly a Christmas one but I feel works well.

The SU sentiment isn't my favourite but it's the only round one I have I need to get another round one for when I start making them seriously!!

Thanks for Looking.

Sarah Kay Challenge

Thanks to Maria at Maria's Cards who sent me some stamped images I have been able to take part in the Sarah Kay Sketch Challenge this week.

It is not quite true to the sketch as I only have small oval dies and they weren't big enough.
This little girl with her dog is so sweet and I think she must come very high up on my wish list!!!

The image has been coloured with pro markers and all the papers are scraps from my box the flowers have little dog paw brads in the middle of them and the sentiment is from SU, all card bazzil

This card is winging its way to someone who needs cheering up at the moment.

Happy 40th Birthday

Hi what a miserable day who would ever believe it is August.. this weekend is the balloon fiesta in Bristol and in the 30yrs is has been going we hardly ever get good weather!!!!

I went to the cinema last night and just before we went in they had a mass assent of balloons at Ashton Court where it is held and they were all blowing across where we were .

Sadly I didn't have my camera with me not something you normally take to the cinema with you but it was a sight to behold. I get a little bit blase about seeing them because it is something we see a lot in Bristol.

Back to the card my neighbour is 40 today and several of us (neighbours that is) are going to a party tonight and I was asked to make a card. It is quite a bit bigger than my normal size cards and I found it quite difficult to make... but I am quite pleased with how it has turned out.
Heather has some gorgeous Rakle stamps on offer and I have based this card on her sketch.

CCT Nurse Nina

This is my card for CCT the theme this week is "the two of us" this cute high hopes nurse helping teddy with his sore bottom seemed appropriate.
This card is going to our friends daughter Nina who's Birthday it is on Sunday she has been a nurse for the past 12 years.

I also wanted to show you my cute little Elzybells stamp which I now use to stamp onto the back of my cards.

Papertake weekly challenge

Well here we go again then!!!! back to taking photo's with the flash... summer is over and it feels like the Autumn is creeping up very quickly!!
This is my take on Katherina's great sketch for the papertake weekly challenge this week.
The papers are "papermania sweet nothings" which I won from Maria and her blog candy and I am loving them I just keep going back to this stack.
The image also came from Maria which she sent with the candy.
Back to work tomorrow but I guess it's just as well as I have been to hobby craft again this afternoon and bought more pro markers, a different ink pad to try with them, some more ribbon and they also have craft punches that are half price and buy one get one free bargain... I bought a nice little snowflake and a star for Christmas cards.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Dancing Queen

Sorry I couldn't resist the title with all the Abba Mania about at the moment, have you seen the film?
I haven't managed to get to the cinema yet... I saw the stage show in January and it was the best musical I have ever seen so I am a bit worried I may be disappointed by the film!!!
Back to the card I was sent this little beauty by someone in a RAK and I am not to sure who it was... If it was you please let me know and I can add a Thank You.
The papers and sentiment are craftwork cards, bazzil card, and the ribbon is American crafts sent to me by my secret sister Alex.
Must go and do some housework now!!!

P.S as I thought it was Jo from only joking who sent me the image, thanks Jo she is so cute!!!

Thanks for looking

Sue :o)

Birthday Thank You

I have lots of Thank You's to say on this card.
The gorgeous H&S image is a very kind RAK that was sent to me from the lovely Debbie at crafting fairy.
These gorgeous papers are a thank you from Jill at Jills Cards who won my blog candy thank you Jill they are just beautiful.
And last but not least the layout was inspired by Debbie 400 at A Scrapjourney who makes the most beautiful cards and scrapbook pages.

Thank you girls I couldn't have made this card without any of you, crafting people are so kind and generous.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Friday Sketchers

I have used the Friday sketchers layout for my first card with the pro markers.

Happy Monday morning.
I have 2 days off work as Honey's day time mummy is on holiday this week, DH has 3 days at the end of the week.
Its like having children all over again but she is far to young to be left all day on her own.
I was hoping to get some gardening done but the forecast isn't very good here today so maybe I will be spending some time crafting instead!!!

I am loving these pro markers trouble is I want more colours all the time, but I can see why everyone is raving about the alcohol based pens whichever make they are they certainly make colouring a lot quicker.

Thanks for looking.

New Addiction

Oh dear bread and water this week I have been to Hobby Craft this afternoon and bought another 10 pro markers the pastel shades this time!! Here are my first attempts not perfect more practice needed... just need some more flesh tones!!!
CAN YOU SPOT THE MISTAKE.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Pro Markers

I succumbed on Friday and ordered some pro markers and they came yesterday afternoon but I was to busy to have a play.
I also bought some bleed proof marker paper but it is very thin and I don't think it will be any good for card making.
I stamped onto the bleed proof paper with stazon but when I coloured the image the ink smudged. I had a go on an image that has been stamped for a while on card and it was OK.
Please has anyone got any advice on which is the best permanent ink to use with the alcohol based pens.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

SBS9 August Sketch

It is my turn to do the sketch challenge this month for my SBS9 and as you can see girls I have made it very simple!!! I know we all have busy lives at the moment for one reason or another so I hope you will be able to find time to have a go.
