11th Hour Sugarbowl Challenge

I have been trying to get a photo of this card all week and today I took it to work and photographed it in reception at lunch time.
Must have a word with the cleaners tomorrow...can you see the cobwebs in the radiator it is perched it on.

Rubbish photo but I wanted to get it posted tonight to catch the sugarbowl challenge which finishes tomorrow and is a fabulous sketch by Marlene.

The papers are DCWV and the image is of course a manga image from sugar nellie.

Number one!!!

Between now and February I know personally of 8 babies due to be born 4 girls and 3 boys and a surprise (why do people need to know what gender it is before the baby is born?) it is such a lovely surprise.
Surprise arrived 2 weeks early on Monday weighing in at 7lb 4 oz and he is lush.

This is the card I made for baby Ethan's Mum and Dad.
Sorry about the terrible photo I had to take it before I went to work this morning (very bad light) so that I could get it in the post.

PFP Vintage

This week Maria has chosen vintage as the theme for this weeks PFP challenge.
This is out of my comfort zone but hay this is why they are called challenges.

I decided to use some Dovecraft paper from last year and a SU Santa stamped with "close to cocoa" ink... he has a real old fashioned feeling about him, just like Santa when I was a kid.

I have kept the colours to a minimum using Ivory and Blush and the colours are Burgundy Caramel and Duck Egg which has been toned down with Warm Grey 1.

The card is very simple with layers of card which has been inked with "close to cocoa" ink.
A strip of Burgundy ribbon and a couple of Christmas charms.

I was very worried about this challenge as vintage I just don't do but I am quite pleased with the result.

PFP Week 26 Burnt Umber and Marsh Green

Here we are at week 26 at PFP and this week we have an unusual colour combination of Burnt Umber and Marsh Green chosen by our guest DT member Barbara

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to join in his week....when I looked for the burnt umber colour I realized it was missing from my promarker pen collection... how could this be I thought I had them all!!
A quick order to Joanna Sheen and true to form the pen arrived on Saturday (such a good service she offers).
This card has been made for my hubby.... his birthday is in early Dec and he is golfing mad so when I saw this image I had to get it for him and the colours work perfectly.

I have used the Friday sketchers sketch and the papers are SU, the golf embellishments were bought from one of the cheap shops.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

The PB image was sent to me by a blogging buddy sorry can't remember who (it is sooooo cute!!!)the papers are SU.
Swirls are a quickkutz die and the charm, gems and flowers are from my stash.

Just another Christmas Card

Hi all sorry for the lack of posting at the moment but I can't sit down for any length of time at the moment due to a back problem.
I can use the computer stood up but I find it very difficult to sit down and colour images for any length of time.

Been for a lovely walk with Honey today at the Arboretum at Westonbirt we have become members so that we will go more regularly it is such a beautiful place and the dogs just adore the freedom.

I have used the lovely Henry mouse I have a couple more that I need to get out and use very soon.

He has been coloured with promarkers and polyochromo pencils...I do like the softer effect this gives.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

PFP Week 23 Animals

Hi here we are at week 23 at Passion For Promarkers and this week Helen has chosen animals.
When I looked at my stamp collection I realized I am quite fond of animal images and seem to have quite a few... mainly mice which is a bit weird really!!

There was only one image I could use this week and that was my prize from Mo at Mo's Digital pencil which was an image she drew of my darling honey bringing me the tea towel(something she likes to do!!).

I have decided to use this image to make some Christmas cards for people it will mean something to e.g the lady that walks her in the day for me and her beauty parlour lady (she get more pampering than I do)

The papers are from SU and of course the image is from Mo's Digital Pencil

passion for promarkers week 22 Forest Green and Poppy

This week we are on week 22 at PFP and we have a very Christmasy combination Forest Green and Poppy from our guest designer Claire.
This has been a good combination it has got me thinking I must knuckle down and make my cards otherwise I will be buying them!!!

The image is one of the new Christmas Mangas and I love him he is so sweet.
These are last years Dovecraft papers I am trying to be good this year and not buy new ones...wonder how long it will last mmmm!

I have used Tiets sketch from "Playing in the Sugar Bowl" I will just make the challenge, but I will be using this sketch again I love it.

When doing this post I noticed I have missed a bit!!! first one to tell me what I have missed I will send some images and some Christmas papers.
This has been rectified on the real card now.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

I have used a very sugary image and papers in very sweet colours.

SOL Last Night

I joined Marlene's Scarp Online yesterday evening and here is the result.
It was fun having all the pieces of paper cut up and not knowing what the end result would be...I look forward to the next one.

I had a bit of a nightmare with this card I used some new repositional tape and it is rubbish... when I got up this morning all the paper was coming off and curling so I had to do some repair work with good old double-sided tape.

Image is a WOJ Christmas Henry mouse love this little chap and the papers I have no idea sorry found them in my stash.. I think they may have been in a candy win.

Honey's Greeting

This is all about the dog!!! you may or may not know I won Mo's first challenge yesterday, I cant tell you how excited I was was when I found out about the prize...the prize was to choose a subject for her to draw an image of and also to name it.

For me it had to be my beautiful Honey girl (I am sure if I had grand-children it would have been different but I don't!!!)
At the moment she loves to greet me when I get home from work with the tea-towel, I know pretty random but who knows what goes through their little minds.

I emailed Mo yesterday and described Honey and told her about the tea-towel thing!! this morning when I woke there in my in-box was this fabulous image waiting for me and it is called:-

"Honey's Greeting"

Animals are not my strong point when it comes to colouring but I just had to have a go (definitely need some more practice).

I have used the Truly Scrumptious sketch by Mina and the theme is Autumn not really true to theme but the colours are right.

I am hoping to join Marlene this evening for her first SOL in English have all my bits cut up and ready to go so may have another card to show tomorrow depending on how it goes!!.

Thanks for looking. Sue :o)

The challenge is to use perple... not difficult for me as I love it.

I have used the sketch from the papertake weekly challenge.
The fairy is coloured with promarkers and polychromos I have used last years dovecraft paper and some ribbons and stars from my stash.

I have used some frosted lace stickles on her holly wings.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Passion For Promarkers 20 is a recipe

This weeks challenge at PFP is from Denise and we have a recipe 3 different shapes 2 different papers 1 ribbon (can you believe it I have messed up again I will be getting the sack!!)I have 2 lots of ribbon but they are the same colour so only 1 honest!!!

This card has been made for my FIL Birthday on Thursday...it will be his first one since MIL died so I think he may be a bit sad, we are all going to see him in the evening to play cards which he loves to do hopefully it will help take his mind off things.

The papers and the image are both SU but I am not so sure I want to advertise this fact at the moment!!! I am sure most of you know what I am talking about.

I have decoupaged the hat gloves and apples to give it a little bit of depth.

Here is a closer look at the decoupage (click the picture)

It was my 2year blogoversary yesterday the 5th Oct....if you are interested and would like to take a look at my first ever post it can be found by clicking here

I can feel some candy coming on.... I will sort something out very soon.

Truely Scumptious Sketch Challenge and Simon Says 24 hr Challenge

Hi all hope you are enjoying world card making day whatever you are doing!!
I have made this card for the Truely Scrumptious Sketch Challenge.

I am also going to enter this for Simon Says 24hr Challenge which you can see details for here.

This is my first attempt at a new colouring technique which I found here.
It is using my trusty promarkers and also my polychromos and sansodor, I love my promarkers but sometimes I want a more subtle effect and as hard as I try I cannot get on with distress inks...they just don't do what I want them too!!!

The darker skin was a bit of a mistake but I have been trying for ages to get a good effect with darker skin and I an quite pleased with this one.

Here is a close up of the image click picture to see better.

I will defiantly be practising this technique some more.

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

PFP Week 19 Apricot Cool Aqua and flowers

This week the PFP challenge has been set by our new guest DT member Sam we also welcome Claire as a guest DT member.
The colours choice is gorgeous Apricot and Cool Aqua.
I have done a bit of distressing this week for a change.

The image is the high hopes garden fairy and the papers are basic grey, everything has been distressed either by sanding or inking and the whole thing had been spayed with gold glimmer mist.

The extra this week is to make your own flowers, I haven't made them exactly... I have just put several different flowers together and spayed them with glimmer mist (looking at all the other girls gorgeous handmade flowers I think I missed the point slightly!!!).

Have some fun with this great challenge this week and you also have the chance of winning this gorgeous flower punch from Martha Stewart supplied by our sponsor Craft Obsessions.

Better still all the new colour Promarkers are only £1.50 each for this week only to coincide with this weeks sponsorship at Craft Obsessions.

Thanks for looking

Truely Scumptious Sketch Challenge

I have used another of these gorgeous Christmas Mangas from Sugar Nellie for this fabulous truly scrumptious sketch.
The challenge was to use at least 3 stamps as well as the sentiment but sadly I didn't meet the challenge couldn't find anything suitable.
I have also rotated the sketch.
I love this colour combo not traditional Christmas....I have used these colours on my Christmas Tree for the past 5years, maybe I will have a change this year.

Stamp Storage

Hi forgot to share this too I picked up this CD storage at Tesco when I was there last night.
It is brilliant for unmounted stamps and only £6.95 and it stores 25 stamps bargain!!

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Promarker Storage for less than £11!!!

I can't take credit for this brilliant idea... Ida sent a link yesterday evening see Beautiful Moments here.
Now me being me if I want one I had to have it now!! so off I trotted to Ikea to get the DVD box at £7.99 straight after my tea.
Then I needed some blank DVD cases..off to Tesco 24hr to buy 3 packs of 5 at 97p per pack.

Back home by 9pm I already had the great colour chart by Debbie printed and coloured in so I set too cutting it up to fit into the spines of the blank cases.
Hey presto by 11.30pm we have a fabulous storage unit I just need to add coloured dots to the ends of all the new pens.

I also seem to be missing 2 grey pens which I am sure I had because the have been coloured in but can't find anywhere!!.

PFP Week 18 Emerald and Marine

This week the PFP challenge has been set by our GD team member Sarah B who has chosen Emerald and Marine and anything but a card.

I will be honest I have never used either of these colours before...I love the different effects the DT have come up with there are some real inspirational projects this week.

I have used a very old Tilda and made a cover for cheap post it note pad to keep by the phone... I can never find a piece of paper when I want one so now I will always have some to hand.

Happy Saturday

First I have the PTI ATC swap to share with you, the lovely Steph organized it and Steph being Steph she didn't only organize it brilliantly she also made these gorgeous boxes to send them in..this girl amazes me what she manages to achieve and two small children. Thanks Steph she also has some fabulous candy up for grabs pop over and have a look. Happy Anniversary Hun xx

Last night my favourite programme was back on the telly yes how could you fail to miss that "strictly come dancing" has started again... I think you either love or hate this programme and I am in the love love love group!!!!
I can't afford to sit down for one and a half hours two night on the trot and do nothing but watch telly so I decided to colour some Christmas images yes I know!!! but I have to start sometime.

Last year it cost me a fortune sending my handmade card so this year I am making a concerted effort to keep the postal ones flatter and smaller and hopefully I can get away with 2nd class small letter post.

Today hubby has gone off on an all day golfing bonding and drinking day!!!!! I will pick him up from the pub after strictly.

So I have a whole day to myself just me and honey..I haven't even showered yet but I have made a couple of simple cards with the images I coloured last night.
Two very different cards the first one is the new manga Christmas image from Sugar Nellie (I have the whole set except the fairy to play with) this is a very young image and I have used young funky colours.

The second one is far more traditional colours and a fab High Hopes stamp a bought last year and never used.

Sorry its such a long post and thanks for looking.

Truly Scumptious Sketch Challenge

CLICK HERE FOR PFP BOG HOP

I was trawling the challenge blogs looking for a sketch for my CC Pixie when I came across this fabulous sketch at Truly Scrumptious.
The sketch is by my fellow PFP DT buddy Michele great sketch hun.

The sketch is great and the the theme is Indian Summer....these gorgeous SU papers say Indian Summer to me not dark enough to be Autumn bit not quite bright enough for summer.

I loved this sketch so much and Tracey at Dies to Die For sent me these High Hope Santa's and I knew they would be perfect so although this card isn't the Indian Summer theme I thought I would share it with you.

Something Different and Create4fun

I received an email completely out of the blue from a lady called Carol who owns an online store called Altered Expression where you can purchase digi images.
Carol asked me if I would be interested in joining her DT, I had never seen or heard of the site so I popped over to have a look.
Now I am going to be completely honest a lot of the images are vintage and this is completely out of my comfort zone, there were also some rather sweet Flower Kids so I agreed to make a sample and here it is.

This is only my second time using a digi image, the first is below for the PFP challenge.
Carol has asked me to join her DT but I am still a bit concerned I wont be able to do the beautiful images justice.
BG Wisteria papers yet again and the image is from Altered Expression.

I have also used the great sketch from the create4fun challenge blog

Thanks for looking Sue :o)
