CCT and Friday Sketchers

My confidence was thrashed last week when I tried to colour the house mouse stamp in spite of all your encouragement I wasn't at all happy with it !!!
My sweet ebony stamps came today so I decided to have a go with some gorgeous paper I received in some blog candy and the brads and flowers are from the stash my secret sister sent.
This card fits two challenges CCT patterned papers and I used Friday Sketchers layout.
I must say I am happy with this card!!!

Marching Mouse

I wanted a couple of quick image holders to send to a couple of lovely people (you are all lovely mind!!!)

A very kind RAK

Vicki over at paperliciousoasis so very kindly sent me this RAK today. I hesitated when the Sweet Ebony stamps where released first time and missed out much to my disappointment... Vicki picked up on this and sent me this gorgeous card and image holder and all these images.
Thankfully I wasn't so slow to react second time round and hopefully my own stamps will be winging there way to me soon.
Thank you once again Vicki you are a very kind and thoughtful person. Sue :o)

Smell the Lilac (Help Please!!!)

I won a beautiful House Mouse stamp on eBay which arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to have a play...problem is it is a much bigger and far more intricate stamp than I have ever used before.
Can anyone please give me some advice on the best type of paper and ink to use with this type of stamp and how to go about colouring it .
I did make an attempt but not very successfully... I stamped it 3 times on watercolour paper and only the fourth attempt was good enough to have a go at colouring.
Thanks in advance for any advice. Sue :o)

Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

I was sent this little Sugar Nellie Bunny in a swap some time ago I coloured her in and she has been sat on my desk amongst the clutter ever since.
She was just what I needed tonight for the new Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge..wasn't quite sure what to do so decided to use the Friday Sketchers layout.
The papers are dovecraft retro floral they are a bit loud and in your face but very bright cheerful and summery which is what the challenge asked for!!
The pink and white ribbon reminds me of pink and white sugar candy canes like the ones we used to get on the pier at Weston-Super-Mare when we where kids!!

Jo's Blog Candy

Jo has some gorgeous pink blog candy on offer all you have to do is make a pink birthday card.
I have had this stamp for a long time and have always wanted to have a go at decoupaging it but because it is so intricate I was unable to cut it out successfully... that is until MichelleO sent me the great fiskers fingertip knife wow what a great tool.

I have kept this card very simple because I didn't want to deflect from the image.
The layout has been inspired by another great Michelle from the cardgrotto.

Happy Birthday Michelle

It is Michelle at the cardgrotto's birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Michelle is such a kind generous person and always encourages everyone... her own cards are amazing and if you are reading this the chances are you have already visited her blog... but if by chance you haven't then pop over and have a look you will be amazed.
The card is very similar to one I made a few weeks ago in pink and brown and I was so happy with it I decided to make one for Michelle for her birthday.
I usually use plain white stock as the base for my cards but on this occasion I have used purple bazzil and have done faux stitching around the edges I really like this effect.
Hope the weather is better where you are it is awful here today still never mind seems like a good excuse to do some crafting.

Blown away by this RAK

Today I received a package with this funky donkey stamped on the front so this could only mean one thing the lovely MichellO had answered my plea for a fiskers finger tip knife which I had read so much about but was unable to source here in the UK.
I had written a little piece on my blog saying I couldn't get one and she offered to send me one from the USA.

And sure enough when I opened the package that was one of the thing inside along with this fantastic card which looks gorgeous in the picture but I can only tell you in real life there is so much detail and the colouring is awesome.
Not only that there was also this fabulous heart punch and lots of images none of which I own.

I can't express how overwhelmed I am by the kindness of this lady and if you haven't been to her blog can I suggest you do so very soon..it is truly amazing not only her cards but also the wonderful stories of her gorgeous donkeys and if you are an animal lover like me can't fail to touch your heart!!!

Happy Golfing Birthday

It was our best friend Ian's birthday today...I am now safe to post his card as I know he has received it.
The papers are DCWV the waistcoat stamp is one a friend lent me and the golfing stickers are some I found in the new craft shop the other weekend.
This is rather a busy card and there is a lot going on but I think Ian was happy with it!!

I received a text from him which said "if I was as good at golf as you are at card making I would be a happy man" which I thought was very sweet!!!
Thanks for looking Sue :o)

Note Tracy has quite rightly pointed out that the papers are Dovecraft not DCWV.
Oh dear these senior moments are getting more frequent!!!!

CCT Katharina's Sketch

The challenge this week on CCT is a sketch challenge by Katharina.
I love this Tilda and the sketch is great I really wanted to use these papers that I had in a blog candy win.
But I have to say this is a little random I wanted an accent colour as the paper was quite neutral not quite sure how I came up with YELLOW not a colour I use very often I think this was a mistake but we have to show these as well as the ones that turn out OK!!!!

Welcome Baby

The image on this card was given to me some months ago by a very talented friend who has given up blogging for the time being which is such a pity because her work was gorgeous.
Anyway back to the card she sent me two of these gorgeous images with the little bird and her chick.

I have a very good friend who is about to have a baby any day now, so I decided to make one pink and brown and one blue and brown.
But as is always the way I managed to mess one of them up so now I have to re-think my pink one !!!
The papers are DCWV spring stack and the image is from pink petticoat.

New Sketch Challenge Blog

This is my entry for the new sketch challenge blog here.
I love the papers and the image which was sent to me by a very kind blogging friend, but I am not so sure about the sequin ribbon it looked OK until I photographed it may have to change this what do you think?

Thanks for looking Sue :o)

SBS9 May Sketch Challenge

This month Tracey has set the sketch challenge and here is my interpretation.
The Stamp is penny black "furry love" and the DP are some I had free with a magazine.
I have cut a mat with my nestabilities and used white gel pen to stitch around the edges the little flower with the gem is a rubon and I have used the swirls cuttlebug folder, sentiment is from CC cards.

Folding pop up card

Card folded flat for posting

I have seen these cards several times on other peoples blogs, as I have a day off work today I decided to have a go.
You can find a video with instructions here along with lots of other neat ideas.
I made the mistake of using gems on the flap that folds down it works but it would be better without the gems.
I have made several this morning for Birthdays that are coming up soon, but they have names on so I can't post them just in case!!!
Thanks for looking. Sue :o)
