One Last card before the New Year

Hi everyone I am still here just!!! hope you all had a great Christmas,sadly ours was spoilt by illness which is still hanging about over two weeks after DH and I went down with this viral flu that is going about.
My oh my I don't want anything like this again for a long time can't remember when I felt soooo bad!!!
Anyway enough of the whinging onto the card, this is the first one for several weeks. I needed a card for our friends daughter's 35th birthday, they should have been coming to stay with us for New Year but I had to put them off I couldn't risk them coming to stay for a couple of nights and then being ill for the next 3 weeks as nice as it would have been to see them. "HAPPY NEW YEAR IAN AND PAT".
I have used the Magnolia V Stampavie sketch and I think I will make it just in time.
The little cup cakes are magnolia and the paper, card and flowers are all SU, sentiment crafwork cards.
Happy New Year to you you all and lets hope it will be healthier one!!! I am going to try and get round to all your blogs later and start leaving comment again.

Sketch Saturday and PIF

This is the card I have made for DH Birthday on Friday, the little dog looks like a short haired Honey. Just hope he likes it!!
Still taking terrible pictures not sure if I need a new camera or a proper light box!!! both probably

I have based this on the Sketch Saturday sketch but I have left one piece off as I didn't want to cover the top of the paper.



The lovely Linda from Lianna Designs kindly sent me this PIF candy a couple of weeks ago...sorry it has taken me so long to post this picture, the first 3 comments will get a little PIF from me.

Missing in action!!!

I decided this weekend I had to start the Christmas shopping!!! Most of which I have done online but I did venture out yesterday to the shops.

Spoonful of Sugar and award

There is a fabulous sketch this week by MichelleO on spoonful of sugar challenge blog and this is my take on it!
This is one of my precious H&S images and I have tried the distressed look again tonight I am getting to like this look.
The green is not quite so bright in real life but I think I might have to tone it down a bit.
I have used one of my special Angel charms again which I purchased from Marlene.

High Hopes Bling!!!

There is a great sketch by the very talented Ila over on the HH challenge blog.
I didn't set out for this to be a bling card but this is how it has turned out.
I have been making an explosion box for my Niece's 18th Birthday which was covered in glitter and bling and I think it has carried on from there!!!

All card is from DCWV summer glitter stack....you can't see in the photo but is covered in glitter.
I have coloured the image with Versa Colour Inks and topped off with twinkling H2O's.
The little sentiment says "I Love You More Than Chocolate"!!!

Magnolia Vs Stampavie

I wanted this to be a nice simple card that would appeal to a 4 year old.
This is for little Ellie who has to have her tonsils out the day before her 4th birthday read about it here.
I have used the sketch over at Magnolia Vs Stampavie this is my first attempt at this challenge and the first outing for this Tilda even though I have had here over a month!!

Very Distressing!

OK there are two reasons for showing you this card!
One it is the distressing I did at Sue's house last night...I am still trying to recover from the tearing and scrunching and inking up of perfectly good paper!!
The second is this is the first photo taken with my new "do it yourself light" box.

I am quite pleased with the results with the light box but not at all sure about the distressing card I think I am going to stick to cutting paper, using inks for stamping and definitely no scrunching!!

Award and Blog Candy

Hi still not able to show cards in the week because of the photo thing!! I am in the process of making myself a "do it yourself" light box!!
I am going with my friend Sian to see her friend Sue tomorrow night,Sue is an ace card maker and is going to give me a few tips on distressing...maybe I will have something to try in the light box tomorrow!!

Another rubbish week at work which has squashed my MOJO....oh to win the lottery!!

Spoonful of Sugar and Papertake weekly sketch

Oh my word this pollycraft image is just soo cute and so easy to colour, the lovely Diane sent me these images at the begining of this week and I just couldn't wait to colour them in.

The sketch on papertake weekly challenge blog really appealed to me and spoonful of sugar blog challenge is to make a card for a child, so here it is.

The gorgeous papers were sent to me by Kerry in a secret sister swap we did a little while back.

I am pleased with this card even though I say so myself!!

I am here!!!

I do have things to show but my camera is rubbish at night shots (or maybe it's the operator!!).

3 Simple cards almost the same!!

These 3 little simple cards are going across the water to the USA and I didn't want them to be to heavy hence the lack of embellishments... I have about 8 to send and it gets very expensive.

This cute little stamp is PB and the papers are Anita's classic Christmas black papers and I love them.

I want to add some of that white puffy stuff on the snow but I am not sure what it is called can anyone tell me?

Friday Sketchers meets Basic Gey

This card is going to cover 2 challenges
The first is the basic grey challenge to use sparkles, the papers are wrassail merry/happy and the green is from the achaic stack.
I was so happy to ink up two of my new stamps last night and I am loving this little sugar nellie lad trimming the tree.
I have stuck some silver stars on the green and used silver gel pen on the tree

I have used the Friday Sketchers sketch.



The little angel are some that I bought from the lovely Marlene I am going to put a mobile phone charm cord in the card so it can be used after Christmas as a guardian angel on their phone.

Distressing!!

Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge 6

Here is my first ever entry to the secret crafters Saturday challenge every week I say I am doing to enter and never get round to it!!
I hope it counts because I have chopped the bottom off to make it into a square card rather thank a rectangle I really don't get on with rectangular shaped cards..

This is also my first attempt at distressing I bought the tools weeks ago but just haven't had the courage to try it hope you like my efforts.

This post is entitled distressing because that was what Friday night was too!!!
I sold 2 gift folder cards, so I am going to stick to doing this for pleasure not profit, lots of the girls at work want to buy the bags so I won't be left with them.
In fairness the young girl on the stall next to me who was selling the most beautiful hand made jewellery said it was the worst one she has been to for 2 years and not to be put off!!! It will have been worth it if my friend gets even one SU booking from the evening.

Still plodding on!!!

I am still plodding on with my bits to take on Friday night, just hope it is all worth it.
I have made these tonight with some new SU papers and my new stamp set which arrived yesterday from Monica.

I now have 10 notebook and post-it note sets.
20 gift bags filled with chocs
10 gift card holders and a selection of Christmas cards.

I just hope its all worth it I have new stamps here that are begging to be inked up but I have to say sorry no time a the moment!!

Almost a Challenge!! and Congratulations

I tell you girls if I had a brain I would be dangerous!! I was getting a bit sick of bags and notepads on Sunday night so I decided to make a card to send to Leann with her blog candy ( I know she has it now so I am safe to show).

I liked the look of the sketch over at the new Magnolia Vs Stampavie blog so I decided to have a go.



Of course after I had finished it I realised it doesn't qualify because I have used an H&S image never mind I enjoyed playing with my cute stamps again.

Back on the production line again tonight!!

Not such a good day until Diane

I have had a really bad day today I can't go into detail but just to say I was very disappointed by someones attitude to what should be a happy time and I was very upset by how unkind people can be.

But then I came home to this and my faith in the kindness of people was restored. Thank You so much Diane I think you know how much this beautiful note book means to me.

Production Line!!

These little gift folders are to go with the bags of chocolates in my previous post Here

These are some cheap little note books and post-it notes which I have covered and I am going to sell as sets. (£3 a set does that seem about right?) I hate pricing these things!


I mentioned in my last post before the blog candy winner that I am sharing a table with my friend Sian on Friday at the local school" ladies night", what I forgot to mention is that Sian is a SU demonstrator so the purpose of the table is to help her promote the product , with this in mind all the things I am making with the exception of a few stamps and embellishments are made with SU products (all the papers are SU).

We had a lovely crafty afternoon together yesterday just as well as the weather here was awful.
These are some of my finished products the rest are work in progress!!! I will have to get my finger out next week to get them all finished.

I want to do something special for my blogoversary and 30,000 hits BLOG CANDY
The October "Think Pink" campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness is very close to my heart and I am sure it is the same for many of you too.
So when the new "Tilda Think Pink" stamps were released on Saturday I was straight on the site to order 2 Tilda's and a couple of sentiments.
I have decided as you girls have been so kind and supportive over the past year I am going give one of each... a BCA Tilda and sentiment along with lots of pink goodies to make your cards with.
No picture at the moment but as soon as the stamps arrive I will post one. I am going to keep this open for the whole month of October and I will get my Mum to choose a winner on Friday 31st October at 20.00 hrs.

Sketch Saturday

Looks like I am going to make it just in time for Sketch Saturday with this card.

When I saw this PB duck with his two hedgie friends I knew I just had to have it!!

The papers are DCWV again and a little bit of bling and that's it, the white edge is actually a frame and after sticking it down I did think it would have looked better in red but it was too late!!

I am online at the pace of a snail!!!

I am back online tonight but very frustrated the connection is just too slow.. it is taking me forever to do anything.
I have uploaded all your lovely cards for the blog candy and added a picture of the Tilda to go with all the pink goodies.

I couldn't face another night of arguments on the phone, it is like knocking your head against a brick wall... it was I line fault but try getting them to admit that.. if I was made to go through one more security check and system check I think I would have screamed!!

I made this card last week for one of the challenges but I can't remember which one and it will be too late now anyway.

I have missed so much on your lovely blogs I just haven't got enough time to cach up with comments so I will start a fresh tomorrow, I have been having a look and everything is gorgeous.

Hi Everyone!

Just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to make cards for my blog candy challenge, I will upload all your cards into the slide show ASAP. I am managing to leave a few comments and having a look at your blogs at lunchtime but I must say 30 mins is not long enough!!
Latest update on the Internet SAGA.. it has now been established that it is a BT line fault and they are working on it!!!

Internet update!!

Well after numerous telephone call to our provider ( all ending up in India) we finally established yesterday lunchtime that it wasn't a problem with my equipment and there is a problem with the line into the house which is what I told them Thursday!!!

Anyway after loosing my rag which I hate doing after all the customer service people are only taking the calls I threatened to leave and find another provider, I was promised it would be sorted by 12 noon today and guess what I still don't have any access.

I have popped over to my son's before I start cooking lunch!!
I did have some pictures to share but for some reason the computer won't upload from the memory stick I am using.

Dog training tomorrow night so hopefully back Tuesday, oh the Tilda's came yesterday for the blog candy I was post a picture ASAP.

Friday Sketchers Meets H&S

I have used this lovely H&S image... I am so desperate to get my hands on some of these little babies does anyone know when they are due to hit us here in the UK. These papers are my favourite DCWV which are from last year and I still keep going back to this stack I love it!!.
The Friday Sketchers sketch is fab and I will be using this again.



I wanted here coat to look like velvet but I am not so sure I have achieved it, what do you think?
