This is Maggie and the little Scottie dog Angus.

The paper again is DCWV it is glittery but I don't think you can see it very well in the picture.
The happy Birthday lace is from lakeland, I bought it a long time ago and have never used it.

I am quite pleased with this one lol!! I am going to work for a couple of hours tomorrow it is our year end as the company I work for is American, hopefully I may get some more time on Tuesday.

This card is for my mother in laws 86th Birthday on Wednesday.

It is a CASE of a CASE the original is by Nicole Heady on the paper try ink site, Michelle Short sent me one with the same layout and I have "copied and selectively edited" from both versions thanks girls!!

Christmas Goodies

Hi all I can't believe I haven't posted for one whole week!! I was going to do so much crafting in my week off and here we are it is Saturday again and still no crafting!!!

I have spent this morning cleaning up and sorting out my craft room, it is great having a space just for crafting but not so good when you can shut the door on it when you have finished.

Here are my goodies that Santa brought me on Tuesday, how rude of me I haven't even opened some of them yet!!!!

I have my sister in law and her husband coming over for a meal this evening, I think that is me done for entertaining for this year anyway!!!

Hopefully I can find some time tomorrow and I will manage one last crafty post before the new year. Sue :o)

Happy Christmas to all my readers

I would just like to say a Happy Christmas to everyone who has taken the time to visit my little blog, when I started it up in October I remember thinking why am I doing this no one will ever want to read it!!.

It has just proved to me what I already knew crafty people are very kind generous people,I have had correspondence with lots of super people and I hope it will continue in the New Year. Michelle yours and Isa's cards have pride of place on my mantlepiece.

Papertake weekly challenge

This is my first time at the papertake weekly challenge, the theme is food so it was a good excuse to ink up my Tilda with Birthday cake for the first time. It didn't turn out quite as I wanted!!

At last I Have My Tree

I had a days holiday from work today, to get my tree up and wrap some presents and try to get into the Christmas spirit. Not the same without children about, Christmas is definitely for them!!!

Sugar arrived this morning, I was beginning to get a little worried, but Nellie's have landed. Will have to wait for a play, I have too much to do and not enough time!!!

Explosion Box

Geneen at work asked me to make an explosion box for her Dad who is in his eighties. It is for his birthday the week before Christmas, he likes to look at photos of his outing with Geneen, she takes him out every Sunday which is so sweet!.

This is what I made, the photos don't do the paper justice it is a lot nicer in real life.

This card has been made for a lovely lady at work who is 60 years young this week. Celia won't read  this but Happy Birthday anyway.

I do have a couple more things, but I have just got back from the mall, finishing off my Christmas shopping, so my bed calls me early tonight. Sue:o)

I sat down and wrote the rest of my cards last night only to find I was about 7 short of completing my challenge to give everyone a handmade card this year.

So I set too this morning to complete my challenge!!!, here are the first three. I must go food shopping now!!! , I will make the rest later.

Hubby's Birthday

It's hubby's birthday today, so I can share the card now.

Good thing about taking the photo before I gave it to him, I noticed the blue mat wasn't square on the red one, so I put that right before I gave it to  him!! 

Went to Cardiff for a concert last night and didn't get home till 1am, I am seriously too old for late nights especially when I have work the next day lol!!

Ballon Boy

One of the chaps at work asked me to make a card for his Nephew who will be 5.

Now you have to understand its a long time since I have had anything to do with 5 year old boys lol!!! and if they are anything like 5 year old girls, (I have a niece who is 6 going on 16 ) they are just so switched on and know everything !! . So I was very worried about making this to say the least lol!!!.

Anyway I took it to work today and he seemed very pleased thank goodness.

Weather is better here today just because we are back at work!!

Sorry can't show card I made yesterday as it is for Hubby's birthday on Wednesday.

My first Christmas card arrived yesterday so I decided I had better put the insides  into mine and try and start writing them!!

This picture is of my new little reindeer friend that I brought home from John Lewis on Friday to live with me lol!!

Had a great evening last night watched Strictly come dancing , it isn't a one horse race anymore Gathen rocks lol!! 

Hubby went out to watch one of his mates who plays in a band, and I sat at home and watched my all time favorite film 'Billy Elliott" and cried all the way through gets to me every time lol!!

Weather is still awful here. Sue :o)

PS do you like my new Mezz, you can make them fatter now so it is more like me, unfortunately I am not a stick insect!!

December has arrived with a BANG

Well December has arrived, the weather here in Bristol today is awful rain and gail force winds and hail that has covered the ground like a sheet of snow.  

Number one son ( well only son actually) came up with a great idea for a Christmas present for his dad, can't tell you what it is as hubby has a tendency to read this, anyway I thought great order it on the Internet and have it delivered to work, must have been joking everywhere is sold out and not sure if they will get more stock before Christmas!!!

Step in my Hero Kim from the purchasing department who had already managed to get one girl at work a Wii lol!, I know he is a genius lol!. Anyway he managed to get me this thing we wanted!!

I decided to take an afternoon off yesterday and get the rest of it done, why is it you can't get what you want it's only the 1st December!! 

 

Some good news my papertrey ink order arrived yesterday along with my concave corner punch from Funky Kits thank you Michelle at the card grotto for the tip, and a couple more Nellie's lol!, why can't everyone be as easy as me to buy for!! I have no trouble ordering what I want from the Internet lol!.

Nearly finished my ramblings except to say I am turning into my mother, I went and bought a clothes airier today to put in the conservatory to try and get some of this endless washing dry, always said I would never have one as I can't bare to see washing hanging about lol, Oh well it comes to us all eventually getting like our parents that is lol!!!. Family Christmas Cards

Set to last night and started making family Christmas cards, 5 down ? to go. Must say I enjoyed making them will have another go tonight while watching strictly come dancing. It's getting very competitive now but still love watching it, I can't believe they do so well with just a week to learn it all!!

Water Colour Paper with Nellie and Tilda

Hi all sorry about the photos it is a dark miserable day here in Bristol and I can't see it getting any better!!

But I really wanted to share this with you, one of my favorite designers Kimmie over at Kraftin Korner is always talking about her favorite SU watercolour paper that she uses to stamp and colour onto, and her colouring is awesome.

So yesterday I decided to go and buy some water colour paper from an art shop, let me start by saying it's not cheap but my first attempts with it yesterday with my whispers watercolour pens were fairly good even if I do say so myself!!

I bought 300gsm which if you are worried about the paper bending it is more like card, but when you use it, does not bleed or bend like ordinary card, I also used my water brush and the paper just absorbs the colour.

I have same lovely water colour pencils that my hubby bought me so I am going to try these today.

My nestabilities arrived yesterday, had a very quick play last night.

Next time I will use them for the matting as well.
